Tommy’s eyes widened as he noticed something unusual on his bedside table. Among his collection of dinosaur books and toys, a strange crystal pulsed with an otherworldly blue light. “Wow,” he whispered, reaching out to touch it. The crystal felt warm under his fingers, and as he picked it up, his dinosaur-decorated room seemed to shimmer and blur around him.
Suddenly, Tommy found himself in a steamy jungle filled with giant ferns and strange plants. His heart nearly stopped when he heard a soft chirping sound beside him. There, crouching in the shadows, was a baby T-Rex! Instead of being frightening, it looked at Tommy with curious eyes. “Hi there,” Tommy whispered, his voice shaking slightly. “I’m Tommy.” The baby T-Rex chirped again, moving closer. Their bonding moment was interrupted by a terrifying roar that shook the ground. Through the trees, they could see the massive shape of an adult T-Rex approaching. “Quick, hide!” Tommy gestured to his new friend, and they both ducked behind a massive fern.
The adult T-Rex had followed them to a rocky valley. Thunder rumbled overhead as Tommy and his dinosaur friend found themselves cornered. The massive predator loomed closer, its footsteps shaking the ground. Tommy’s hand clutched the crystal, which suddenly began to glow brighter than ever.
“We need to be brave,” Tommy said to the baby T-Rex, who stood protectively beside him. The crystal’s light grew more intense, and Tommy held it high above his head. The adult T-Rex stopped, mesmerized by the brilliant blue-white glow. The baby T-Rex let out a confident roar, much bigger than its size would suggest, and the adult T-Rex took a step back, then another, before turning away.
Tommy blinked, and suddenly he was back in his own room, tucked safely in his bed. The crystal sat quietly on his bedside table, its glow now soft and gentle. Was it all a dream? But then he noticed a small green scale on his dinosaur-themed bedspread, and smiled. As he drifted off to sleep, he hugged his favorite toy T-Rex close, remembering his brave prehistoric friend with the blue spot on its head.
His mother peeked in later to find him sound asleep, a peaceful smile on his face, surrounded by his beloved dinosaur decorations. The crystal’s soft glow matched the gentle light of his fossil night light, keeping watch over his dinosaur dreams.
