In the warm afternoon sunlight, Hoppy the Rabbit hopped through the forest clearing, his blue vest gleaming with golden buttons. His friend Nutkin the Squirrel sat on a nearby branch, adjusting his green striped scarf. They were gathering berries and nuts for their afternoon snack.
“What a beautiful day!” Hoppy said, twitching his nose as he picked some juicy berries. Nutkin nodded, his bushy tail swishing happily as he collected acorns. The forest was peaceful, with butterflies dancing through patches of sunlight and birds singing sweetly in the trees.

Suddenly, the birds stopped singing. A shadow fell across the clearing, and a low growl made Hoppy’s long ears stand straight up. “Quick, hide!” whispered Nutkin, scampering into a hollow tree. Hoppy ducked behind a thick bush, his heart thumping.
Through the trees came the Big Bad Wolf, his gray fur looking silver in the fading light. His yellow eyes gleamed as he sniffed the air, searching for the little animals. “I know you’re here somewhere,” he growled, his sharp teeth glinting.

But Hoppy and Nutkin weren’t alone. Other forest animals had seen what was happening. Quietly, they gathered around the clearing. Hoppy took a deep breath and hopped out from behind the bush. “We’re not afraid of you anymore!” he declared bravely.
Nutkin appeared in his tree hollow, armed with acorns. The other animals emerged too – deer with their strong antlers, badgers showing their claws, and birds spreading their wings wide. The wolf’s eyes widened as he saw all the animals standing together.
“One, two, three!” shouted Nutkin, and all the animals made noise at once. The birds squawked, the deer stomped, and Nutkin threw his acorns. The wolf, surprised by such bravery and unity, backed away slowly.

As the sun set, painting the sky in beautiful oranges and pinks, the forest friends gathered in the clearing. They spread out a checkered blanket and shared the berries Hoppy had gathered and the nuts Nutkin had collected.
“Together, we’re stronger than any bully,” Hoppy said, munching on a berry. Nutkin nodded, sharing his acorns with a young mouse. The forest was peaceful once again, and the friends had learned that when they stood together, they could overcome any challenge.
As the first stars appeared in the evening sky, the animals said goodnight, knowing they would always protect each other. And the Big Bad Wolf? He never bothered them again, having learned that friendship and unity were more powerful than size or sharp teeth.
