The morning sun sparkled on the royal garden pond as Princess Lily sat on a stone bench, holding a golden fishing rod. Her father, the King, stood behind her with a warm smile.
“Now, my dear,” the King said, adjusting her small crown that always sat slightly tilted, “hold the rod like this.” He guided her tiny hands into the proper position. Princess Lily giggled as the fishing line dangled above the water.
“Look, Daddy! The fish are coming closer!” she whispered excitedly, watching as colorful shapes moved beneath the surface. The King scattered some bread crumbs on the water, making tiny ripples spread across the pond.
Suddenly, Princess Lily’s rod bent sharply. “Oh! Oh! Something’s pulling!” she squealed. The King steadied her as she held on tight.
With a magnificent splash, the most unusual fish they’d ever seen leaped from the water. It wore tiny glasses and had rainbow-colored scales that sparkled in the sunlight. The fish looked at them with googly eyes and made a funny face.
“My goodness!” laughed the King. “I’ve never seen a fish wearing glasses before!”
The fish did a little flip and splashed water on Princess Lily’s nose, making her giggle even more.
Later in the castle kitchen, Princess Lily stood on a wooden stool next to her mother, the Queen. The Queen stirred a large copper pot while Princess Lily carefully sprinkled in some herbs.
“Mommy, will the funny fish’s glasses make our soup taste better?” Lily asked innocently.
The Queen chuckled, her pearl necklace glinting in the kitchen light. “No, sweetheart. We removed those before cooking. But your special herbs will make it delicious!”
As evening fell, the royal family gathered around their grand dining table. Candles flickered warmly as they enjoyed their special fish soup together.
“This is the best soup ever!” declared Princess Lily, her crown still charmingly tilted.
“Indeed it is,” agreed the King, “but perhaps next time we should catch a fish without glasses!”
They all laughed together, and Princess Lily couldn’t wait for their next fishing adventure.
