My Husband Gave My Seat on His Private Jet to His Secretary… But He Turned Pale When the Crew Asked Me to Cancel the Flight

When I boarded my husband’s private jet, I found his secretary, Jasmine, sitting in my usual seat, right beside him.

She was feeding Aaron a slice of orange.

He didn’t even look embarrassed.

“Jasmine gets motion sickness,” he said. “You can sit in the back.”

My mother-in-law immediately added, “Alyssa, stop being so difficult.”

I didn’t argue.

I simply picked up my handbag and headed toward the exit.

That’s when three flight attendants followed me.

“Mrs. Prescott,” the senior attendant whispered, “would you like us to cancel the flight?”

Aaron’s face went pale.

Everyone believed he owned the jet.

But the aircraft actually belonged to my family’s holding company.

And that wasn’t the only secret.

Years earlier, when Prescott Technologies was on the verge of bankruptcy, I had arranged a $1.5 billion investment through my family trust. I also controlled thirteen patents that supported some of the company’s most profitable products.

I had never demanded recognition.

I loved Aaron and wanted him to succeed.

Unfortunately, he’d mistaken my generosity for weakness.

“Let the flight continue,” I told the attendant.

Then I walked away.

Minutes later, my phone buzzed.

It was Daniel, Aaron’s chief financial officer.

“Alyssa, we need to talk about Jasmine. Don’t trust anyone in Aaron’s inner circle.”

I met him that evening.

Daniel showed me documents revealing that Jasmine had repeatedly attempted to access confidential information connected to my patents.

Aaron had approved several requests without questioning their purpose.

“We believe she’s trying to obtain proprietary technology for a competing company,” Daniel explained. “We’ve blocked the suspicious access attempts and referred the matter for independent investigation.”

My stomach dropped.

Jasmine hadn’t simply been trying to steal my husband.

She had been using him to get closer to my family’s most valuable assets.

The following morning, I called an emergency meeting with our attorneys.

Jasmine’s access was suspended. An internal investigation confirmed the unauthorized access attempts, and the company began taking legal action.

When Aaron returned, he found me waiting in the conference room.

“Alyssa, please. We need to talk.”

I placed the documents in front of him.

He stared at them in disbelief.

“I had no idea what Jasmine was doing.”

“Maybe not,” I replied. “But you knew exactly how you were treating me.”

I informed him that he would no longer have access to my family’s aircraft. I was also appointing independent representatives to protect my financial interests in the company.

Then I handed him the separation papers.

He looked devastated.

“You’re leaving me over an airplane seat?”

I shook my head.

“No, Aaron. I’m leaving because you forgot the value of the woman who used to sit beside you.”

Over the following months, the company underwent a restructuring, my patents remained protected, and I finally regained control over my own life.

Aaron apologized repeatedly.

He sent flowers, letters, and promises that he would change.

But I had already made my decision.

One afternoon, I boarded my family’s jet again.

This time, I was traveling alone.

The senior attendant smiled.

“Your usual seat, Mrs. Prescott?”

I looked at the empty chair beside the window.

“Yes,” I replied. “That will be perfect.”

As the aircraft climbed above the clouds, I finally understood something.

I hadn’t lost my place on my husband’s private jet. I’d simply stopped accepting a place in his life where I was no longer respected.

And for the first time in years, I felt completely free.
