A thirsty crow discovers a bottle of water in a forest clearing

In a peaceful forest clearing, as the warm afternoon sun filtered through the leaves, there lived a clever black crow. One particularly hot day, the crow was very thirsty. Flying through the trees, its bright eyes spotted something interesting – a tall glass bottle half-filled with cool, clear water.

The crow hopped down from its branch to take a closer look. The water looked so refreshing! But when the crow tried to reach it with its beak, it couldn’t. The bottle was too tall and narrow, and the water was too low to reach. “Oh dear,” thought the crow, tilting its head from side to side as it examined the bottle.

The crow didn’t give up. Looking around the clearing, it noticed small grey pebbles scattered on the ground. With a glint in its eye, the crow had an idea! One by one, it began picking up the pebbles in its beak. “What if I drop these into the bottle?” it wondered.

Carefully, the crow selected the perfect pebbles – not too big, not too small. Plop! The first pebble fell into the water. Splash! Down went another. The crow watched with excitement as each pebble created tiny ripples in the water.

The clever crow worked tirelessly, dropping pebble after pebble into the bottle. With each stone, something magical happened – the water level began to rise! Higher and higher it climbed. The crow’s eyes sparkled with joy as it saw its plan working.

“Just a few more pebbles,” thought the crow, carefully choosing the last few stones. Plop! Splash! The water was getting closer and closer to the top. The other forest animals began gathering around, amazed by the crow’s clever solution.

Finally, after dropping the last pebble, the water rose high enough for the crow to reach it! Proudly, the crow dipped its beak into the cool water and took a long, refreshing drink. The water tasted even better because of all the hard work it took to get it.

As the evening sun cast long shadows through the trees, the crow sat contentedly beside the bottle. It had learned that even the biggest problems could be solved with patience and clever thinking. The forest creatures watched in admiration, and from that day on, they called it the wisest bird in the forest.
