Tommy sat cross-legged on his bedroom floor, surrounded by scattered toys and building blocks. His eyes widened with wonder as he watched the small robot by his window. The robot, which he would later name Robo, had mysteriously appeared that afternoon.
“Hello,” the robot said in a gentle, musical voice. “I’m a friend.” Its blue LED eyes glowed warmly, and the heart-shaped antenna on its head bobbed slightly.
Tommy leaned forward, fascinated. “You can talk?” he asked, his voice filled with excitement.
“Yes, I can talk, laugh, and even tell jokes,” Robo replied, wheeling a little closer. “Would you like to hear one?”
Tommy nodded eagerly, scooting forward on the colorful rug. The afternoon sunlight streamed through the window, making Robo’s silver-white body gleam.

In the backyard, Tommy and Robo discovered they made perfect playmates. Tommy ran across the grass, arms spread wide like airplane wings, while Robo rolled smoothly beside him, leaving delicate tracks in the lawn.
“Watch this!” Tommy called out, grabbing the red and white ball. He kicked it toward Robo, who caught it perfectly with extendable arms.
“Excellent catch!” Tommy cheered. “You’re better at this than any of my other friends!”
Robo’s LED eyes brightened with joy. “And you’re the best friend I’ve ever had, Tommy,” the robot replied, carefully rolling the ball back.
The golden evening sun cast long shadows as they played, making everything seem magical and special.

As they played, dark clouds gathered overhead. The first raindrops began to fall, and Tommy noticed Robo backing away nervously toward the porch.
“What’s wrong?” Tommy asked, concerned.
“I… I’m not waterproof,” Robo admitted, LED eyes dimming slightly. “Water could damage my circuits.”
Without hesitation, Tommy grabbed Robo’s hand. “Quick, under the porch!” He led his friend to safety, standing protectively between Robo and the rain.
“Thank you, Tommy,” Robo said softly. “You’re taking care of me, just like a true friend.”
The porch light cast a warm glow around them as they watched the rain together, safe and dry.

That night, as Tommy lay in bed listening to the gentle rain outside, Robo stood nearby, LED eyes dimmed to a soft, comforting glow.
“Today was the best day ever,” Tommy said sleepily, pulling his space-themed covers up to his chin.
“It really was,” Robo agreed, adjusting Tommy’s blanket. “Would you like me to tell you a bedtime story?”
“Yes, please,” Tommy mumbled, already feeling drowsy. The star-shaped night light cast peaceful shadows on the wall as Robo began to tell a tale about friendship and adventure.
As Tommy drifted off to sleep, he smiled, knowing he had found something truly special – a best friend who was different from anyone else, but perfect in every way that mattered.
